Instruction is improving. Supports are expanding. Yet student anxiety, reactivity, and disengagement continue to rise.
Students are present but distracted. Focus is harder to maintain. Agency feels diminished even as opportunities expand.
Staff discussions increasingly driven by urgency instead of clarity. Crisis mode becoming the default operating state.
Leaders making choices in response to noise rather than grounded in strategic priorities and long-term vision.
Crisis headlines, comparison culture, and worst-case narratives on repeat, all day, every day.
The disconnect between a world improving in measurable ways and a growing expectation that it's getting worse. When progress becomes invisible, anxiety becomes predictable.
See how information environments are shaping how students and staff think, feel and respond.
Learn how to interrupt negative information loops by pairing challenge with progress and possibility.
Strengthen well-being and create the conditions for clearer thinking, confidence, and meaningful action.

What began with 23 students has expanded to nearly 200 annual learners, demonstrating that these ideas work at scale.
"From its outset, IGS has been one of the most inspirational, innovative and effective programs to engage, motivate and transform the way young people approach the world."
Dr. Rick Kool, Royal Roads University
Graeme is a keynote speaker, educator, and co-founder of the Institute for Global Solutions. He is a professor at the University of Victoria and Royal Roads University, and a TEDx Editor's Pick speaker whose work has reached hundreds of thousands worldwide.
Graeme's work centres on what he calls the Hope Gap: the disconnect between a world that is improving in measurable ways and a growing belief that it is getting worse. Drawing on his experience working with students, educators, and leaders across sectors, he explores how modern information environments shape perception, stress, and decision-making, and what it takes to think clearly in a world dominated by noise.
Through Bridging the Hope Gap, Graeme equips leaders with practical tools to rebalance inputs, strengthen clarity and focus, and build a greater sense of agency in an increasingly complex world.
He lives in beautiful Victoria, BC with his wife and three kids.
"In a moment when schools and families are navigating so much noise and uncertainty, Graeme's focus on clarity, perspective, and agency deeply resonated. People left feeling more grounded, encouraged, and hopeful."
Superintendent, West Vancouver Schools
"Graeme's keynote was exceptional. His delivery captivated our staff with a message that was engaging, thought-provoking, fun and interactive. The positive feedback has been overwhelming."
Principal, Parkland Secondary
"I can think of no program that has made more of a difference for more students and, in fact, for our planet, than IGS. This is the program to explore, and these are the people to join in their journey."
